Naruto reveals how Kakashi feels about Might Guys broken legs even after 10years (Konoha Story : The Steam Ninja scrolls chapter 15)

Konoha story Steam Ninja scrolls Chapter 15 is out making it the final chapter of this manga adaptatyion of the popular Steam Ninja scrolls novel. It was already adapted in the Boruto anime even though the anime cut out some story points. Konoha story Steam Ninja scrolls Chapter 15 is titled “Mirai’s king”.

Kakashi's mission

Mirai finally defeated Ryuki putting an end to the Jashin cult. Kakashi and Guy are very proud of Mirai. Kakashi decides to send a ninja hound to Yugakure attempting to contact them so they can hand in Ruki and his friends to Yagakure and land of steam officials. It’s revealed Kakashi was given a mission to look into this cults activities and the rumor behind Jashin. He also reveals Choji, Kiba and Tenten were undercover as tourists. Guy was also part of this mission. Mirai is very confused because she doesn’t know why he didn’t tell her. Kakashi was conflicted about telling her because he was scared she’d want to look into things on her own but he believes she still managed to accomplish the mission hence she was the right person in the right place.

Mirai-Tatsumi Discussion

Tatsumi is now awake, last chapter, she passed out after Ryuki lost control of her. The first thing Tatsumi does is apologize to Mirai for lying to her. Mirai thanks Tatsumi because Tatsumi bottle save Mirai. Tatsumi gave that bottle when they were still in the hot springs, the bottle saved Mirai and its water helped Mirai easily fool Ryuki when he casted a genjutsu. Mirai is also glad she was able to save Tatsumi because she became a shinobi to save the people around her

Kakashi-Naruto Discussion

After a stressful night it’s finally morning and the Yagakure shinobi have arrived. There was a little bit of humor this chapter were Yagakure shinobi went after Guy because they thought he had a chiseled face. Kakashi found out Mirai read the archives and its forbidden so he tells her he gave her permission in case anyone asks. They decide to head back to go get a bath in the inn on Kakashi’s request. Mirai actually thought Kakashi was talking about all of them in one bath but Kakashi cleared things up.

Back in the inn, Kakashi is in a call with Naruto. Kakashi and the others are in the land of fire and will be arriving soon at Konoha. During this conversation, Kakashi was talking to Naruto about Sasuke and Sakura and later talking about children/Kabuto. I think he was referring to the shin uchiha clones because they are in Kabuto’s care. Naruto also inquires about Mirai and how she is. Kakashi reveals Naruto sent Mirai with him and he was worried for her even though he knows she’s fine.

Kakashi wants to heal Guy's legs

At the inn, Kakashi and Guy are having a conversation. Guys says Mirai’s mad because they’re not going to be able to get home before its dark with Kakashi wondering if it’s because he was on the phone too long. Kakashi recognizes Mirai’s good work and think it was fate she encountered the Jashin cult. Ryuki approached people promising them to cure incurable diseases and for those who want to meet their dead loved ones. That way, he was able to get money. They both wonder if its possible Mirai fell for it. Kakashi emphasizes on how he might’ve swayed if it was him because of Guy’s leg. Guy is still surprised Kakashi is still worried even though it’s been more than 10yrs.

Kakashi believes if he had a way to heal Guy’s leg, he would do so but Guy is happy because he’s alive and he can talk to Kakashi which is all that matters to him. Guy thinks he doesn’t need legs especially when Kakashi is by his side

They decide to stay one more night

Mirai interrupts the conversation and she’s upset because they won’t be able to make it back today. Kakashi requests they stay one more day and Mirai should protect them. Mirai thought this would happen but she’s still enthusiastic and decides to carry out her duty with happiness.

Who is the “King” that a shinobi must protect?

Back in Konoha, Mirai is playing a game of shogi with Shikamaru. Before Mirai’s mission, Shikamaru asked her a question ie who is the “King” that a shinobi must protect. Mirai now has an answer to that question. When Mirai faced off again Ryuki, she realized there isn’t any point dwelling on the greatness of the past. She believes shinobi are supposed to protect the future for everyone living in the village especially children regardless of the era. Mirai said she felt a weight lifted when she decided to look into the future. So the King that Shinobi must protect is the “future” and she’s right about that.

Shikamaru accepting her answer reveals that’s the reason why Asuma named his daughter Mirai because Mirai means "future" in japanese. Shikamaru knew she didn’t pick up on that but Mirai thinks it’s hard picking up on something that’s right under her nose. Shinobi in Konoha are impressed and look up to Mirai because she solved the missing person’s case in the land of steam. The Shinobi she encountered thinks she completed the mission because she’s got Asuma blood in her even though Mirai is secretly against it. Mirai knows she’s her parent’s daughter but she is still Mirai. This marks the end of the this manga adaptation

Closure

This final chapter was so emotional but what actually touched me was the conversation between Kakashi and Guy. I’m sure Kakashi feels heartbroken whenever he sees Guys legs. If he knew of a way to heals Guy’s legs he would’ve done so but unfortunately he can’t, making him feel bad. Guy on the other hand has accepted his fate and he’s content because he’s still alive.
